Inspired by Blue Planet, frustrated at the state of the high-street, and tired of brands whose only aim is to chase margin, we decided to do something different. As a team, we are wholly passionate about this crazy, beautiful planet we live on. We’re also completely in love with fashion. Which is why we are making every effort to be as kind to the environment as possible. How then, do we incorporate sustainable practices into our supply chain?
What is sustainable fashion?
There are a lot of buzz words flying around right now, from conscious clothing and slow fashion, to ethical and environmentally friendly. Yet, there isn’t a clear explanation of what this actually means and why it’s so crucial. A definition of sustainable fashion:
“Fashion that maximises benefits to people and minimises the impact on the environment.”
Sustainable Fashion is something that we feel passionate about and Truly believe in, and it’s always at the forefront of our minds when designing collections and sourcing new products. It’s a small eco drop in a vastly polluted ocean, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction.
Why is sustainable fashion so important to us?
At Truly we love clothes. Like, really love; the different shapes, designs, fabrics, patterns… the possibilities really are endless, and it turns out we’re not the only ones, clothes are a BIG industry. Unfortunately, behind this massive industry is a lot of damage. In fact, the fashion industry is the second most polluting after the oil industry.
We know you will agree with us that our planet is the most precious resource and worth cherishing. And, since we all need clothes to cover our beautiful bodies, we wanted to make it easier for you to be a conscious consumer; and so our Truly Considered range was born.
Introducing: The Truly Considered Range.
