Valentines Day Date Ideas

You can make Valentine’s Day 2020 one of the most romantic days of the year! However, making it extra special requires some creative thinking and planning. So take a look at our Valentines Day date ideas to boost your creative juices and create a date you will remember…

The Stay Home Date

Opting to stay at home is a nice way to have some time just the two of you. This is a great option if you have young children or have difficulty finding a baby sitter.

For some couples it may be hectic work schedules coinciding with Valentine’s Day, so why not create a romantic space for the two of you in the comfort of your own home and take some time to pamper each other?

One of the first things is to get right is the atmosphere; so dim the lights or replace with warmer lamps or candles and play some delicate music that you both enjoy.

Dining At Home

If you are a wiz in the kitchen then cooking up their fave meal will come easy to you, however, if like yours Truly you are culinary challenged, don’t worry! For your evening meal you have other options to help you out with results just as tasty.

First of all, you can opt for a food delivery service that will either bring the ingredients to your door with easy to follow step-by-step cooking instructions, These include Mindful Chef, Hello Fresh and Gousto or others such as Oakhouse, More More More and Cook Food Net who will bring gourmet style meals ready to eat.

Serve up your tasty creation on a beautifully decorated table with a touch of candlelight….Voila!

In house Gift Trail

For something a little more personal and to add a special twist to the evening, you can start by setting up your own Valentine’s Day Gift Trail.

Leaving little gifts and treats for each other around the house, with personal clues that only the two of you know. For some gift ideas check out our beauty range

Out and About Dates

Whatever your budget, with a little thinking outside the box you can design a magical day or night for you both…

An Explosion of Colour

Perfectly Instagrammable and completely free, the NOW Gallery is currently displaying a breathtakingly beautiful, rainbow hanging installation from French architect Emmanuelle Moureaux, called “Slices of Time”.

This installation is inspired by living in Tokyo and based upon Moureaux’s concept of shikiri, which means ‘dividing space with colour’. Find out more here

A Floating Restaurant

As you know dining by the water rarely comes for free and if you have a little more cash to splash (excuse the pun) then ‘The Glass Room’, located in Victoria Embankment is a special option.

It is particularly great on a Sunday, when they bring your a three-course Sunday roast, served with all the trimmings and lashings of live jazz.

Prices: lunch sittings are £39pp, or £49 for better seats and a half bottle of wine. Dinner packages run from £79-149, and Sunday lunch is £49, or £59 with wine.

Dine in an Igloo

Over the last few years, we have seen dine in igloos popping up all over London. This means, you really can take advantage of that fact and shop around for the best deal.

To view some of Londons pop-up igloos visit Design My Night. However, two of my faves are Coppa Club in Tower Bridge pictured above or The Waterway in Little Venice;

The Waterway – Little Venice

These gorgeous igloos are exclusively chic, set in their own private garden in Little Venice. Filled with beautiful fairy lights, their own speaker system and cosy blankets. Each igloo is fully decked-out for special occasions.

You can have your own private heated igloo surrounded by a beautiful terrace, within an enclosed private garden space. It is the perfect spot for private drinking, dining and exclusive events.

Location: Situated on the bank of the Grand Union Canal, Maida Vale’s The Waterway
Prices: Between £75 – £150 a minimum spend for exclusive hire is required and a maximum capacity of 7 guests.
