Your Guide to: Summer Drinks

Let’s be honest, it’s rare to have good weather lasting longer than 3 days so we don’t know about you but we’re taking full advantage of the Sun with some refreshing Summer drinks. Whether you’re throwing a Summer party this weekend or just need a mid-week pick-me-up, these recipes will do the trick.

strawberry rosé cocktail

You can’t go wrong with a chilled bottle of Rosé in the Summer, and with only 3 ingredients, this is the perfect cocktail for when you want a quick, and delicious cocktail that will wow your guests.

INGREDIENTS

1 Pint Fresh Strawberries
1 Bottle Rose Wine
1 Cup Sugar

METHOD
  1. Slice 4 strawberries and place in a small saucepan with a cup of sugar and a cup of water.
  2. Bring your sugar mixture to a boil until it has completely dissolved. Pour it all through a mesh strainer into a small bowl (you don’t want the strawberry bits) then pop the bowl into the fridge to cool.
  3. Thinly slice 2-3 strawberries and place into a pitcher, then pour 1/2 cup of simple syrup into the pitcher and fill with Rose. Stir thoroughly.
  4. Pour the cocktail mixture into your glasses, we’re using our Fluted Champagne Coupes and garnish with a strawberry and some dried roses.

PIMM’S

There’s no doubt that a glass of Pimm’s really is the staple of all British Summer drinks and it’s the perfect cocktail for whenever the temperature rises and friends come around. Now you can create the ultimate summertime classic with this (very) simple recipe.

INGREDIENTS

200ml Pimm’s No. 1
600 ml Lemonade
Sprig of Mint
Sliced Cucumber
Sliced Orange
Strawberries
Ice Cubes

METHOD

Fill a jug with ice cubes and pour over the Pimm’s, followed by lemonade. Give it a good stir, then add your mint, cucumber and fruit. Delicious and refreshing!

rose and grapefruit cocktail

Is there really a better combination than vodka and grapefruit? Not only does the Rose and Grapefruit Cocktail taste delicious, but it’s definitely one of the most ‘Instagrammable’ from our Summer Drinks list!

INGREDIENTS

1 cup Vodka
4 tbsp dried rose buds (you can buy these from most supermarkets)
1 cup Water
1 cup Sugar
2 oz Vodka
2 oz Grapefruit Juice
4 oz Tonic Water

METHOD
  1. Mix 1 tbsp rose buds with your vodka and leave it to sit overnight, occasionally give it a good shake, then strain it the next day.
  2. Combine the sugar, water, and remaining rose buds in a saucepan and bring to a boil over a medium heat, occasionally stirring.
  3. Simmer until your sugar has completely dissolved then lower the heat. Cook for an extra 10 minutes to allow the rose buds to infuse.
  4. Strain your mixture and place it in the fridge to cool.
  5. Grab your favourite glass, we chose the Fluted Tumblers and fill with ice. Pour over your rose infused vodka, grapefruit juice, tonic water and rose syrup into the glass.
  6. Give it a good stir and serve with some rose buds and a slice of grapefruit.
